In the foundry department, the heart of the ancient craftsman work, the production workstations are equipped with their relative furnaces of two different kinds: the melting furnaces and the holding furnaces, from which liquid metal is taken out by the operator for the casting operation. Some of the casting machines are manually operated and some are semi-automated with double chill-machine.
The brass, once melted is dripped out in a ladle and is poured into the holding furnaces. Each of these furnaces feeds several chill machines. The casting machines carry and move the chill, that is to say the tool in which the liquid metal is manually poured and the casting is formed. The manufacturing capacity of our foundry is about 30 tons of brass a day at maximum efficiency rate.
