From the removal of the pieces to sandblasting: the Finishing Department
In the finishing department, the sand core residues inside the workpieces are removed, by special machines that carry out a cleaning operation of the pieces with metal grit at high speed. Furthermore cutting, grinding and deburring operations are carried out to eliminate burrs. Most of the machines are automatic or semi-automatic. Another specific machine is dedicated to the surface sandblasting treatment which improves the surface appearance of the pieces that are delivered to customers at raw state. On many items a water tightness test is carried out with special machinery and also a final visual check.
